Shipping information

Shipments are entrusted to the Italian Post Office.

Delivery methods

At the request of the Customer, the delivery of the shipment can take place:

  • at the address of the recipient

  • to the Post Office: the Sender can choose to direct and have the shipment delivered to one of the authorized Post Offices (The list of Poste Points is available on the websitewww.poste.it). The duration of storage is 7 working days starting from the day following the arrival of the shipment at the Post Office. The recipient will be notified via text message and / or email from the post office of the arrival of the shipment at the post office.

  • in one of the authorized foreign Proximity Points or “Access Points” where the shipment can be delivered as an alternative to home delivery.

Delivery time

Delivery is made approximately by:

  • UE: 1/2 working day, in addition to the day of collection

  • USA / CANADA: 2/3 working days, in addition to the pick-up day (except for customs formalities)

  • Rest of the world: 2/4 working days, in addition to the pick-up day (except for customs formalities).

For postcode / place of departure "same day" delivery times are:

Indicative delivery times, except for customs formalities (for non-EU countries), vary according to the international delivery area and the type of shipment, which can be consulted on the websitewww.poste.it, on the product page.

NB: Holidays and Saturdays are not counted in the delivery times.

Delivery attempts

There are 3 delivery attempts (2 attempts in the case of "residential deliveries" to private recipients). In case of absence of the recipient at the end of the expected delivery attempts, the shipment will go into storage. The storage period varies depending on the country of destination: 5 days for destinations in the European Union and 10 days for destinations outside the EU. After the days of storage, if not released, the shipment will be returned to the Customer / sender. In cases where the shipment is refused, if it is destined for a European country, it automatically returns to the sender (in the case, however, of non-EU destinations, the shipment will in any case be in storage for the period of 10 days) in case of closure for holidays are 10 days of storage expected for European destinations 20 days for non-EU destinations in case of closure for summer holidays.

Management of non-deliveries

Absent recipient

After the first unsuccessful delivery attempt due to the absence of the recipient, a notification will be sent to the same by sms / email (for the purpose of providing the notification service, the sender customer must provide Poste with the recipient's contact details) . The recipient will have the possibility to exercise, by 24.00, the release option by selecting the link provided in the notification. In cases where the recipient does not exercise the release option within the time indicated, the second delivery attempt will take place automatically on the day following that of the first attempt. The following are the available release methods: • return of the same address or new address • delivery to the Post Office (only for shipments of compatible weight and format) • delivery to the Post Office (only for shipments of compatible weight and format) • delivery at Punto Poste-Locker (only for shipments of compatible weight and format). In case of non-delivery even on the second attempt, the employee will leave a new notice with the references of the Post Office / Operations Center where the shipment will be stored. The recipient can collect the shipment at the Post Office / Operations Center in the following 7 working days. If the recipient fails to collect the shipment within the terms of storage, the shipment will be sent to the sender or abandoned, depending on the provisions of the sender himself at the time of creating the waybill. The return costs are charged to the sender even in the absence of any indication on the shipment.

Recipient not identifiable

If it has not been possible to deliver a shipment to the recipient (example in the event that the recipient is unknown to the address indicated or the address is incorrect or incomplete), Poste will do everything possible, without obligation of result, to find the correct address and deliver the shipment to the recipient. For this service, the Customer / Sender will be charged, in the only case of delivery, the supplement for the Proactive Release according to the contractual provisions. If the address correction activity is not successful, the Dossier for opening the storage practice will be sent to the Customer (sender), or communication of the impediment to delivery, indicating the reason and asking for instructions at the same time (the Dossier, sent via web, is for a fee). The customer (sender) can release the shipment in storage also by requesting delivery to the competent Post Office, the return sender or abandonment. After 3 working days of storage without a release, the shipment will be sent to the sender or abandoned. The return costs are charged to the sender even in the absence of any indication on the shipment.

Refusal of the recipient

If the recipient refuses to collect the shipment, he must put his signature on the waybill or on another document used by the delivery clerk. If the recipient does not want to sign, the delivery clerk will take care to report the name of the recipient on the delivery documents, the words "does not agree to sign for refusal" and his signature. However, the refused shipment remains in storage at the Poste headquarters for 3 working days pending any release by the Customer (sender). After 3 days, without indications from the Customer, the shipment will be returned to the sender or abandoned.
